Recovery of Mineral Wool Waste and Recycled Aggregates for Use in the Manufacturing Processes of Masonry Mortars

The environmental problems caused by industrial waste are of a universal nature. In this sense, achieving an adequate management construction and demolition has become one the great challenges today’s society. This work studies possibility recovering mineral wool thermal insulation for its reincorporation into manufacturing process masonry mortar. To end, experimental campaign been conducted with mortars made natural aggregate two types recycled aggregates: concrete mixed ceramic, in which fibers incorporated as partial replacement sand percentages 0%, 10% 20%. results show that, although traditional offer better technical performance, present viability use on-site. Furthermore, it concluded that incorporation mortar matrix decreases conductivity shrinkage during setting these materials, increasing their mechanical flexural strength durability.
